Lunar New Year 2026 in Southeast Asia. Each local team — Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines… — produced its own version with AI. Its symbols, its colors, and its sound cues. Without waiting for the green light from a central headquarters.
+67% engagement vs 2025. 48 hours instead of 3 months. Cost cut by 4x.
What amazes me here? Not the numbers (impressive), but the organizational decision behind it. Someone, somewhere at Coca-Cola, said: we empower the field teams, we truly move from global to multilocal. Not easy in a large organization.
I bet we’ll see dozens of posts concluding “AI will kill agencies.” It annoys me in advance. Because this case says something else: it says that the model “we create at the center, we adapt everywhere” is nearing the end of its life. It’s not the same thing. We’re talking about co-creation, not automation.
What I really take away: engagement has always followed cultural authenticity. AI did not invent this principle — it has just made its application industrializable at the local scale in a coordinated way. That’s a huge difference.
I wonder how many agencies are organized to take advantage of this?
