A man in an impeccable suit who reserves a table for you during your vacation.
That’s the AI agent according to NOS.
Not a robot. Not a voice-over. No blue particles floating around.
In early August, it’s worth sharing a vacation campaign. This one comes from the south: one of Portugal’s main telecom operators launched on July 20 its summer campaign, centered on a simple idea — a network that doesn’t take vacations with artificial intelligence.
The film follows a young actor, seen in the Netflix series Rabo de Peixe, who spends the summer accompanied by his AI agent. The agent books the table, selects the recipe, shows the way, and reminds him of the appointment.
What’s new: until now, advertising showed an AI that responds. Here, it’s an AI that acts. The shift from chatbot to agent, staged without jargon and without a single second of product demonstration.
What’s inspiring: the tone. For two years, we’ve treated AI as a historic event — solemn music, promises of revolution, 3D neural networks. NOS makes it a vacation companion.
And the brand goes further. On digital, it entrusts to creators an AI-generated video cadavre exquis: each adds their prompt without knowing the others’ prompts. It even states that the result will oscillate between the hilarious and the surreal. A publicly listed company openly embracing the unpredictable is not common.
While most brands are still figuring out how to show their AI, this one has simply brought it into everyday life. In a summer suit, with no commentary.
Have a good vacation. The network, on the other hand, doesn’t take one.
